Cerebriu secures both CE mark and €9,4 mio. investment

August was a positive month for Danish company, Cerebriu, as they secured the first CE-marking of embedded clinical AI in Siemens Healthineers MRI consoles and adding an addtional €9,4 mio. to their 2024 funding round.

Cerebriu have been working on their AI technology for years, and now got the news that their Apollo Smart Protocol, which enables MRI technologists to adapt imaging protocols whilst the patient is still in the scanner, has secured a CE-mark - the first clearance given to AI in MRI systems.

Smart Protocol help radiologists and technicians decide in real time how to adapt the scanning protocol depending on what is being seen — so that the imaging is more accurate, efficient, and less likely to require re-scanning. Smart Protocol will monitor the images as they are being taken, detect possible critical signs (e.g. a hemorrhage, infarct, tumor, etc.), and propose or automatically adjust what further imaging sequences should be done — while the patient is still in the scanner.

Alongside the good news of the CE-mark, Cerebriu could announce an added €9,4 mio. to the €17,4 mio. raised during their Series A in 2024, bringing the total round to €26,8 mio., and the next goal is to scale Apollo across Europe, the US, Asia and the Middle East, with the company currently working on their FDA clearance.
